About molarium

molarium is a free, open tool for people who make solutions at the bench: concentration calculators that handle purity, hydrates and units properly, and one page per chemical with the numbers, structure, GHS hazard classification and links to safety data sheets.

Where the data comes from

• Chemical identity, properties and GHS data come from PubChem (NIH National Library of Medicine), fetched through our server with caching so we stay well under PubChem's request limits.
• GHS pictograms are the UN GHS pictograms, which are in the public domain.
• Buffer pKa values are a curated table (Good et al. 1966; Goldberg, Kishore & Lennen 2002; supplier references) at 25 °C with temperature coefficients where known.
• Supplier SDS links are built from the CAS number. Where a supplier site permits it, a background lookup tries to find direct PDF links; otherwise you get a search link.
• Community uploads are PDFs shared by signed-in members. They are not verified by us and can be reported.

About our bot

Supplier lookups are made by molarium-sds-bot. It identifies itself honestly, honours robots.txt, makes at most one request every two seconds per site, never stores supplier PDFs (only their URLs), and never tries to get around access controls. Site owners who prefer not to be looked up can block the user agent or contact us.

Accounts

Everything works without an account. Creating an account, with Google or an email address, lets you save recipes, share them by link, and upload safety data sheets for others.
