| Component | 100 mL | 500 mL | 1 L |
|---|---|---|---|
| Citric acid (anhydrous) | 0.1374 g | 0.6871 g | 1.374 g |
| Trisodium citrate · 2H₂O | 0.08374 g | 0.4187 g | 0.8374 g |
| Final volume with water | 100 mL | 500 mL | 1 L |
- Dissolve Citric acid (anhydrous) in about 80 % of the final volume of purified water.
- Check the pH; it should read 6.0 at 25 °C. Adjust with dilute acid or base only if needed.
- Make up to the final volume with water.
- Use fresh or store at 4 °C for up to a month.
- Neighbouring pKa values are close; the single-pKa estimate is approximate.
