100 mM sodium citrate pH 4.5
Acidic enzyme assays and dissociation of cells.
| Component | 100 mL | 500 mL | 1 L |
|---|---|---|---|
| Citric acid (anhydrous) | 1.24 g | 6.199 g | 12.4 g |
| Trisodium citrate · 2H₂O | 1.043 g | 5.215 g | 10.43 g |
| Final volume with water | 100 mL | 500 mL | 1 L |
- Dissolve Citric acid (anhydrous) in about 80 % of the final volume of purified water.
- Check the pH; it should read 4.5 at 25 °C. Adjust with dilute acid or base only if needed.
- Make up to the final volume with water.
- Autoclave or filter-sterilise and store at room temperature.
- Neighbouring pKa values are close; the single-pKa estimate is approximate.
