  1. Dissolve Citric acid (anhydrous) in about 80 % of the final volume of purified water.
  2. Check the pH; it should read 4.5 at 25 °C. Adjust with dilute acid or base only if needed.
  3. Make up to the final volume with water.
  4. Autoclave or filter-sterilise and store at room temperature.
